Inspect the Ceiling and Fixture
Measure the ceiling opening or grid module and compare it with the panel’s exact external dimensions. Nominal sizes such as 600 × 600 mm or 2 × 2 feet may vary slightly between products and regional ceiling systems.
Check whether the ceiling can support the fixture and whether cables, pipes, insulation, or structural elements will interfere with the driver. The power supply should be disconnected before wiring begins.
Install a Recessed Panel
A recessed panel light is commonly fitted into a suspended grid ceiling. Remove the ceiling tile, connect the driver, position the panel above the grid, and lower it carefully into place.
The fixture should rest evenly on all supporting edges. Safety wires may be required depending on local regulations and project specifications. Drivers and cables should not be placed where they can create pressure on the diffuser or frame.
Install a Surface-Mounted Panel
A surface mounted panel light is suitable for concrete ceilings or locations without a recessed grid. A mounting frame is fixed to the ceiling first, and the panel is then connected and secured inside the frame.
The frame must remain square and level. Uneven mounting can cause visible gaps, frame distortion, or pressure on the diffuser. Confirm that the driver and wiring fit inside the available enclosure.
Install a Suspended Panel
Suspension kits allow panels to hang below high or open ceilings. Cable lengths should be adjusted evenly so the fixture remains level.
For panel lights for suspended ceilings, the ceiling grid must match the panel dimensions and provide sufficient structural support. Suspension wires, brackets, and safety cables should be approved for the fixture weight.
Complete the Wiring
Connect live, neutral, and ground wires according to the wiring diagram. Dimmable models may require additional control cables for 0–10V, DALI, or another system.
Avoid mixing incompatible drivers, dimmers, or emergency modules. All connections should be enclosed and accessible for inspection.
Test the Finished Installation
A reliable LED panel installation guide should include these final checks:
- Fixture sits level and securely
- Driver operates without abnormal noise
- Light output is uniform
- No dark areas appear on the diffuser
- Dimming remains smooth
- CCT and color match nearby fixtures
- Wiring and labels meet local requirements
Testing several units before full installation helps identify ceiling, driver, dimming, or dimension problems early. Accurate measurements, compatible accessories, and clear installation instructions reduce rework and improve long-term reliability.
